Leadership at Spirit is a collaborative effort. A Community Council is the main decision-making body. In addition, there are eight committees that steer and implement various aspects of life at Spirit. There are currently two staff members who support the goals and activites of the Council and committees.
The Community Council is made of seven elected members who serve three-year terms. They oversee the fulfillment of our Mission Statement and our bylaws. The Council provides guidance to committees, and opportunities to vision and plan for the future. One Council member acts as liaison to eight committees, allowing the flow of information to go back and forth between Council and committee for as clear and transparent communication as possible. Everyone gathers twice per year at a Community Assembly, where programs are explained and reviewed, a budget is passed, and our vision is renewed.
