Children, youth, and families of all ages and structures are welcome and celebrated at Spirit. We offer a staffed childcare room during liturgy for children ages birth through kindergarten. During the school year Church School is offered on the first three Sundays of the month during the first part of Liturgy. Children are led in activity or book related to a theme from the liturgical year or in a recent Gospel story.
Our children, youth, and families are engaged and included in liturgy as readers, musicians, and vocalists, or by offering prayers, announcements, or reflections.
Visiting grandchildren, godchildren, nieces, nephews, or neighbors are welcome to any class or gathering at any time.
Spirit offers sacramental preparation for children, youth, and families. Sacraments we have celebrated with our younger Spirit members include baptism, Holy Communion, and confirmation.
Our sacramental preparation includes age-appropriate activities or discussion - including lots of play and coloring for our littlest kiddos - to learn and share together about the meaning of the sacrament. Sacramental preparation also includes important intergenerational connections with other Spirit members.
Typically baptism happens for young children, Holy Communion preparation happens around second grade, and confirmation happens in grades 10–12.
